The Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior (IC MoI) in co-operation with the State Border Guard (SBG) and the State Police (SP) implements the Internal Security Fund 2014-2020 program project No. IC/ IDF/2020/6 “Implementation of the Entry / Exit System and ETIAS” (hereinafter - the Project).
Project goal: To upgrade the State Border Guard Electronic Information System (REIS) and its technical platform and complement it with a common national interface with the European Central Entry/Exit System (EES), ensuring compliance with the Schengen Borders Code, while ensuring the improvement of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
Project implementation period: 16.09.2020 – 31.12.2022.
Funding: 7 668 038 EUR.
86.07% in the amount of 6,599,767.00 EUR - EU funding.
13.93% in the amount of EUR 1,068,271.00 - financed from the state budget.
Project activities:
- Project management and administration.
- REIS modernization and EES implementation.
- Integration of the national unified interface.
- Establishment of a central access point and system integration.
- Purchase and integration of end-user equipment.
- Security tests.
- Purchase of mobile equipment at Zilupe railway border-crossing point.
- Improving the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
- Providing access to ETIAS Central System data for checks at external borders and for immigration control purposes, incl. providing an ETIAS VV data exchange solution.
- Adaptation of solutions used in central access points.
- Provision of the infrastructure necessary for the operation of ETIAS.
Project results:
- REIS has been modernized and the implementation and integration of the national unified interface has been performed, incl. integration through the national unified interface is ensured and security tests are performed.
- One Central Access Point and adapted information systems have been set up, including to provide access to ETIAS Central System data for law enforcement purposes.
- Improved ETIAS, incl. deployment of ETIAS hardware components, including NUI, and provision of an appropriate environment, configuration of network equipment for separation and protection of ETIAS components and other MoI network resources, and provision of interconnection, configuration of local networks to ensure secure access to ETIAS components.
- Created 1 training material in video format for system users.
- The necessary end-user equipment has been purchased.
- The equipment is integrated for work with REIS and the central entry / exit system.
