In order to improve and strengthen the technical base of the State Border Guard, the Information Cenre of the Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the State Border Guard, has installed an interactive large-format video wall inside the Ventspils Administration Maritime Operations Coordination Center. It will facilitate the surveillance of the information recorded by video cameras located at the sea border and a rapid response in case of need. Raimonds Reinicāns, Head of the Technical Service Division of the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior, points out that the installation of a video wall is a significant contribution to strengthening the technical capacity of the Maritime Operations Coordination Center: “It will enhance the capacity of the Maritime Operations Coordination Center to visualize the information processed, to make more efficient use of the existing maritime video surveillance system, and to establish and maintain a situational picture for the maritime border surveillance sector of the European Border Surveillance System.” For reference: the mobile video wall consists of 9 LED screens placed in a metal frame. The video wall is also equipped with a wireless video image transmission device, which allows it to be easily used for other presentation purposes. |
