Project developed: Based on the ERDF supplemented operational programme “Infrastructure and Services” priority 3.2 “Promotion of Accessibility and Reachability of Territories” measure 3.2.2 “ICT Infrastructure and Services” activity 3.2.2.1. “Development of Public Administration Electronic Services and Information Systems” sub-activity 3.2.2.1.1. “Development of Information Systems and Electronic Services” and the Cabinet Regulation of 10 August 2010 No. 766 “Regulations on the Round Two, Three, Four and Five of the Project Applications under the supplemented operational programme “Infrastructure and Services” sub-activity 3.2.2.1.1. “Development of Information Systems and Electronic Services”.

Project goal: To ensure the transition of voice radio transmission from analogue mode to digital voice transmission with integrated data transmission and introduction of the information system for determining the geographical coordinates of end users (radio stations) in order to ensure compliance with Article 44 of the Schengen Convention.

Project target groups: State administration institutions (State Police, State Border Guard, Security Police, State Fire and Rescue Service, etc.), which within the scope of their competence provide services to the residents of the state in ensuring public safety and order.

In the project of modernization of the radio communication system of the Ministry of the Interior, the existing radio communication system infrastructure and subscriber radio station equipment were digitized, providing digital voice transmission with integrated data transmission and high security (AES 256 bits) encryption. The following activities and measures have been implemented during the modernization of the existing radio communication system:

  • purchase of an information system for determining the location of the geographical coordinates of the end users of the radio communication system (radio station users);
  • upgrading of the central equipment of the radio communication system infrastructure;
  • upgrading of the territorial base stations of the radio communication system infrastructure;
  • upgrading of radio stations of the radio communication system;
  • installation of 9 territorial base stations of the radio communication system infrastructure;
  • training of radio system administrators.
