Accumulated information

  • criminal proceedings initiated (initiated criminal cases) and established criminal offenses in the country, as well as criminal proceedings received from abroad, for which a pre-trial investigation will be conducted in the Republic of Latvia (number, nature, prevalence of these criminal offenses, place of initiation of criminal proceedings);
  • natural and legal persons who have committed a criminal offense, in whose interests criminal offenses have been committed by natural persons (who have been charged, a criminal case has been sent to court, the number of persons, their characteristics, personal data, qualification of the criminal offense);
  • the results of the pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceedings (criminal cases) (the relevant decisions taken in the criminal case, the dates of their adoption);
  • the progress of criminal proceedings (criminal cases).

Who provides the information for inclusion in the information system?

  • The information is provided by the institutions whose officials are entitled to initiate criminal proceedings in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Law.

How is information provided for inclusion in the information system?

  • The State Police authorities first enter the information in the register online, later sending the record cards to the Information Centre;
  • other law enforcement authorities provide information for inclusion by sending criminal record cards to the Information Centre.

How can I receive information from the information system?

  • using online data transmission mode (authorized users);
  • in writing.

Who can receive information from the information system and to what extent?

  • natural persons - statistical data;
  • law enforcement authorities - statistical data, as well as all available information.

How is training in working with the information system organized?

  • instructions for the use of the information system are available to users;
  • If the user needs training in working with the information system, contact the department staff. Training is mandatory when granting a user data entry / correction rights.
